Horn tips cut between 3" and 5" in order that you may fashion the nock to your pattern, the formation of which is centred to the middle of the horn point for maximum strength and even appearance in graining when polished.

Evenly prepared, sanded finished in Water Buffalo horn. Conically drilled at 11 degrees. No string groove - cut your own to suit required angle. Generally 1/2" across the open end.

Full length ( hollow portion plus solid tip ) of selected, regular crescent shaped swamp type Water Buffalo horns of Chinese origin. Selected horns for bow building have curvature in one plane only and no side twist. Selection further ensures no deep dimpling / cracks that will take away form the potential of the material. If you have the equipment to cut these for yourself, then you will have all the extra material ( side strips and points ) left over to use on other jobs. Take a look at the catalogue entry for "full horns". If you don't have the facilities to cut the back strip from the horn then we can do this for you at no extra charge. You receive the "back strip" material with it's natural internal and external surfaces, ready to dress down and dimension. These are lighter in weight to send overseas, so saving on shipping costs and with the cutting already done for you. Typically a generous 50mm in width, and your specified length on the outer arc.
Photo shows backstrip removed by bandsawing from typical , suitable horn. We can forward either "just" the strips ( to save carriage costs ) or strip plus offcuts where carriage costs are suitable to to you.

Laminating strips cut from the side portion of the Water Buffalo horn and following the trimming out of the backstrip. Straighter and flatter than backstrip. Useful pieces up to 4" in width, 1/4" - 3/8" thick and 10" - 16"+ in useable length. Will require prep work to dimension out smooth sided stock pieces on outer (weathered) surface.

Produced from solid black Water Buffalo horn, handy dowels in a range of diameters, with a range of applications. From 10mm - 40mm diameter, varying lengths. Good bulk discounts.

Very attractive colours in these 3" ( average ) horn points and may be used as nocks that have an appearance dramatically different from the standard black buffalo horn so often seen.

Very light coloured centres diffusing out into straw / greeny outer graining.
